Pakistan’s Babar Masih and Mohammad Asif made the Asian Snooker Team Champions after winning against India’s Pankaj Advani and Malkit Singh. 110-1, 47-81 (52), 72-70, 05-107 (68), 98-18), a tremendous final of the team’s event on Thursday in Doha.
Pakistan was fielding two teams at the event of 16 teams competing at the top spot.
Asif said; “This is the most amazing feeling, because Advani and Singh both played a good role, but we gave ourselves time, and we slowed down, we fell behind, but Babar and I once played in the game. Then to get a 2-1 league. We have lost India in the World Championship this year ago, I think we just get them this time. ”
For Babar, the best way to prepare these events was to get out of Rawalpindi, a home city so that the national rankings show more than the championship. Babar believes that playing with Pakistan’s professional player Hamza Akbar, who was in Lahore for a few days, mostly helped.
Asif said, “The event is going very slow, we can take our time, so I’m hoping for good results for everyone representing Pakistan.”
